I like A List Apart (http://www.alistapart.com) for its mix of programming snippets, user interface design and discussions on web content.

I also like CSS Tricks (http://css-tricks.com/) and they’ve started doing screencasts.

I recommend both of these resources for my web design students, and many of the ones you listed above. W3 Schools is a great place to start out.

Thanks for this!

Thanks for the comment Amber.

Those are great recommendations, I knew about CSS Tricks but not about A List Apart.

This is a wonderful resource for anyone looking to improve their web design skills. What exactly went into sculpting this list?

Thanks for the comment.

Basically I just listed the websites that I’ve found helpful. I’m still learning web development, and always looking for new sites to gain knowledge from.

This is the great list.. I like that w3schools.com website, because to learn the web site design and it is very simple..
It may be grateful for the novice of website designers..

I like to mention some more sites for website design.

Please go through and make use of it..

Nice list! I’d also recommend A List Apart, http://www.alistapart.com/, but have you guys ever read the blog of Roger Johannson?

He’s one of the best front-end developers I’ve seen online. I love his posts. I can highly recommend him. Check out his site at http://www.456bereastreet.com/.
