Finally, its here! On Wednesday, January 27th; Apple announced the long anticipated iPad. Now, is this a game changer for the journalism industry and many others or just another must have gadget for the “fan boys” ? There is no doubt that Steve Jobs is a excellent leader and visionary, and has yet again blew everyone away with the thought and care that has gone into creating such a beautiful designed gadget. Nieman Lab states five thoughts on how the iPad will (and won’t) revolutionize the news A great point was that it will have a great impact on consumer behavior by blowing the Kindle and other e-readers out of the water.

It will have a real impact on consumer behavior. This thing’s going to be popular — I suspect it’ll sell at multiples of the Kindle (assuming Amazon ever decides to tell us how many Kindles they sell). And the form factor will be attractive in a lot of contexts, and that’ll likely increase the amount of news and information that people consume. Anyone who loved the Kindle will love this (unless they’re e-Ink junkies), and the iPad will also appeal to big crowds who would have never thought of a Kindle — gamers, mobile workers, YouTube addicts, and more.
