Social media has become very popular over the past year, but I predict companies and individuals with adopt it more this coming year. Its important that social media is used effectively especially if you have a business, the amount of opportunities that can stem from this medium are endless.
If businesses and individuals want to get serious about the social media landscape, they need to understand how to implement a successful strategy. Amber Naslund from Social Media Today has gathered a great list of 10 recommendations that will help you get serious and understand what you should be concentrating your efforts on.
1) Quit counting fans, followers, and blog subscribers like bottle caps.
2) Learn how to measure stuff, and quit making excuses for why you can’t do it.
3) Learn what case studies can and can’t do for you.

Thanks for drawing attention to this, some great tips there. I especially like tip 1 (“Quit counting fans, followers, and blog subscribers like bottle caps.”). Individuals and companies engaging in social media need to focus more on quality and depth of interaction.
